Instruction
Beginning Monday, January 10th we will begin our corporate 40-Day Fast which will end on Friday, February 18th. Each week the focus of what we are fasting for will be communicated as the Holy Spirit leads/guides.
Fasting is a spiritual discipline that is taught in the Bible. Jesus expected His followers to fast, and He said that God rewards fasting. Fasting, according to the Bible means to voluntarily reduce or eliminate the intake of food for a specific time and purpose.
Purpose: To feast on the Lord, by looking unto him for Guidance, Direction, Power, Forgiveness, and Hope. This fast is not about seeking God’s blessings as much as seeking God.
Fasting gives more time for prayer – we can use the time that we would set aside for eating natural food as a time of prayer and meditation for what God wants to do among the body of TSOP as a ministry and for the individual partners.
Fasting should include prayer
Consecration - the act of setting oneself apart from the world to become dedicated as an instrument of righteousness for the purposes of God.

Focus: Prayer for guidance & wisdom: Come Holy Spirit! Pray specifically that TSOP (Kingdom at Large) will be changed dramatically by the Holy Spirit. Pray for the Kingdom, our city, our nation, and our world. Pray for our gathering together after the 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting, that God would speak to us, and we would obey. In addition, ask yourselves how might God be asking us to obey after these 40 Days? What is He specifically calling YOU/US to do in response to this time of prayer and fasting? Go! Shake Us!
Foundational Scripture: Acts 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place where they were meeting together was shaken [a sign of God’s presence]; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness and courage.”
